Grey Wether, Avebury
One of the large Grey Wether stones at Avebury. Ironically, wether in old English is a sheep. So you could say there are 3 wethers in the photo. I understand that the reason the stones are called wethers is that before they were brought to Avebury they were lying randomly on the ground on one of the adjacent downs and that from a distance they looked like sheep.
