As I walk around, I often find reminders of WWII. My parents, both gone now, were of a generation that gave up many years of their lives to fight for the freedoms we have today, to fight the Nazi regime that was terrorising the world. That generation whether here in the UK, in the Commonwealth countries or in those countries that decided to join in the fight for righteousness should never be forgotten. Whether they were a serving military person, a farmer producing food, a factory worker keeping the nation supplied, even those left at home caring for loved ones whilst other family members were away doing their part in the war effort, every last one of them was just a part of an even bigger force that in the end prevailed. We should never ever forget anyone of them. To forget is to risk complacency and find ourselves yet again drawn into a conflict that will only bring suffering.
